Rider Inspired Innovation

Here we'll step through each update revealed by Polaris Industries today regarding their 2021 off-road family of products. There's updates to Sportsman, RZR, General, Ranger & Youth models. Read on to see what they have in store for you.

2021 Polaris Sportsman

THE ALL NEW, BOLDLY REDESIGNED SPORTSMAN 450 H.O. & 570

Polaris has taken the iconic features riders love about Sportsman and advanced them even further. This next generation of Sportsman is truly the smoothest, strongest and most versatile value ATV in the world. Let's take a closer look at what's changed.

First, Sportsman has always been known for its smooth ride and handling. In 2021, you'll find an even smoother ride. They've accomplished this with 25" tires as standard on 450 models, class-leading increased ground clearance (11.5"), upgraded clutch for smooth engagement at low speeds, and finally their next generation of engine braking.

Now let's look at what they've accomplished to make Sportsman even stronger than before. They started with steel front racks on all models, upgraded to 6-ply tires on all models (the strongest in the category to increase puncture resistance), automotive-grade sealed suspension bushings eliminating the need for greasing, and an upgraded battery with 78% more cold cranking amps. These features are now all standard on model year 2021 Sportsman. You will also find a USB Battery Charging Port which is a welcome addition to both work and play. Speaking of batteries, the Sportsman battery has been relocated up front to just under the steel racks, providing easy access.

Finally, the fastest engaging, true on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) continues to come standard and is controlled by the single flip of a switch. And its in-line shifting and single lever braking live on to maintain the simplest, most effective user control system. To make the Sportsman even more versatile, they've increased its towing capacity to a class-leading 1,350 pounds. With the larger battery in place, that are now able to pull added power for simultaneous high-beam capability for both the headlights and the steerable pod light. This gives you the most lumens possible when the day transitions to night.

A Utility Package will be available on 3 different models (450 H.0., 570 & 570 EPS) and a Trail Package available only on the 570 Premium. Let's take a quick look:

2021 Sportsman Limited Editions

The news just keeps coming for Sportsman. Polaris has prepared 2 limited edition Sportsman models - the Ultimate Trail LE & the Utility HD LE. These machines bring features that have never been seen before in this segment for riders looking to get the most value out of their machines. 

2021 Sportsman Ultimate Trail LE

It boasts LED headlights, along with an LED pod light for maximum illumination on the trails and a killer look. But the style and versatility doesn't stop there. This machine also includes painted springs, a 2,500lb winch, dual arched A-Arms, 14" aluminum wheels and 26" Duro Tires.

2021 Sportsman Utility HD LE

It comes standard with drive shaft seals and heavy duty bearings to withstand extra punishment. They've also added a front bumper (with integrated front hitch), front and rear utility racks, a switched rear power port, and the entire vehicle is wrapped in scratch resistant paint.

Both Limited Editions come with Polaris' exclusive ride controlled drive modes, as seen on their big bore models, giving the ultimate control of low speed throttle modulation (low effort throttle), three driving modes, top speed limiting and geofencing.

2021 Sportsman Accessories

Polaris is launching an entirely new lineup of accessories to compliment the Sportsman with even more versatility creating unlimited opportunities to customize your ride! The one most people will be particularly excited about is the first ever, Polaris-engineered audio solution built specifically for the Sportsman lineup.

New Sportsman Cargo Options

Sportman's industry leading storage capacity gets another upgrade with a new open cargo box, rear cooler box, and rear cargo box accessories that are fully compatible with rack extenders and the new rear utility rack. These fit all 2021 450, 570, 850 & 1000 Sportsman Models.

Additionally for model year 2021 Sportsman, Polaris has added pre-wire for both hand and thumb warmers. And of course, to keep the rider and ATV protected, you can select new hand guards, brush guards, and lock & ride windshields.

2021 Sportsman Big Bore 1-Up Models

Featuring new color options, a new pod style, and an in-dash charging port for easy access, the Sportsman 850, 850 Premium, XP 1000, and XP 1000 S are ready to play.

Additionally, a new premium factory installed trail package is available on both the Sportsman 850 Premium and XP 1000. 

2021 Polaris Ranger

The #1 utility side-by-side (UTV) continues to innovate raise the bar. The strongest, most capable and most comfortable Ranger lineup ever is right around the corner. 

Ranger XP 1000

Key Quality Upgrades:

  • Isolated Front Drive (30% strength improvement)

  • 50% Improved Clutch Durability

Ranger XP 1000 Northstar

Featuring full cabs, heat, and air conditioning, demand continues to rise for the Northstar series. For 2021, Polaris has committed to elevating in 4 areas - Strength, Capability, Comfort & Style. 

First, all upgrades mentioned from the XP 1000 (above) are included in the Northstar. Then, to enhance rider comfort, they improved cab sealing and door fitment in 7 key areas for better protection from the elements. Inside the cab, both Premium and Ultimate trims now features signature Northstar seat embroidery for an ultra premium look. Raising the bar on capability, Northstar Ultimate now receives 29" Maxxis tires and LED headlights as standard equipment.

2021 Ranger Limited Edition

Introducing the first ever Trail Boss edition. This new limited edition is available in 3 seat and crew variants on Ranger XP 1000 and Ranger XP 1000 Northstar Ultimate. The Trail Boss edition promises more premium features and more work and play capability.

2021 Ranger XP 1000 High Lifter

Of course we can't forget our personal favorite for boggin', the High Lifter gets 30" Outlaw 2 Tires bringing ground clearance to an industry leading 15 inches. Polaris also improved draining on the standard premium half doors and added bold color accents to the interior.

2021 Ranger 1000

It's Stronger - It's receiving the same isolated front drive and increased chassis and suspension strength that we mentioned above on the XP 1000! It also gets the same in-dash battery charging port.

It's Sexier - The EPS trim now comes with the same full front bumper as the premium trim.

Factory Installed Package Offerings for Ranger

Now, there are 3 packages available, 1 each on 3 different models. You can get:

  • The Winter Prep Package on Ranger 1000
  • The Ride Command Package (our fave), which now features LED headlights, on the XP 1000
  • The MB Quart Audio Package on the Northstar Ultimate

We should note here that the LED Headlights featured on select XP 1000s will also be available as an upgrade for those that don't come sporting it from the factory. The extra exciting part - the kit is compatible with prior model years! 

Polaris is also offering a geofencing kit for Ranger 1000 to enhance vehicle controllability with speed control down to 4mph and the ability to set operating boundaries.

2021 Polaris General

The General is the industry's #1 selling crossover and most recently launched the General XP and General Sport. Today, Polaris announced the 2021 Polaris General XP 1000 Pursuit Edition available in both 2 seat and 4 seat configurations.

This limited edition comes with a new look, more capability and new accessories. 

The all new adventure bed rack provides two levels of storage and is built to fit Polaris coolers in the cargo box, while the new upper rack carries up to 50 pounds of gear. 

The strong hold gun boot and mount makes it easy to pack away your firearm. It features a quick release gun mount boot and an inner sleeve to keep guns clean, protected and accessible. 

Head out on the hunt any time of day or night with the new high output 11 inch light bar mounted on the color matched front bumper. 

To complete this package, the Pursuit edition has the perfect blend of Polaris Pursuit camo on black, green and military tan graphics with custom seats.

Polaris General RideCommand Enhancements:

  • More Accessible Points-of-Interest (gas stations, restaurants, hotels, etc)
  • Faster Boot Time
  • Innovative "Follow Mode" - Allows a group leader to leave a digital track for others to follow

Model year '21 Generals are also receiving more Rockford Fosgate audio options, including stage two plus kits designed for use with a heater and Ride Command.

Finally, to continue building on the General accessory lineup, Polaris has added a new rear bed rack, a fixed glass windshield (Lock & Ride compatible), and XP Track Mount Kits for the five of you in Florida that actually haul it up north to play in the snow. 

2021 Polaris RZR

New for 2021, the standard model will be called Sport. The two upgraded trim levels we're already familiar with, Premium and Ultimate, will still come with upgraded features and styling. All Premium models for 2021 now have RideCommand. These levels (Sport, Premium, Ultimate) are expected to continue into future model years.

  • Improved Clutch Alignment = Less Wear & Tear on Belt

2021 Polaris RZR XP TURBO S LE

Limited Edition RZRs are known for their bold color combos and this year's premium paint scheme is no exception. It also features:

  • Ride Command 7" Display
  • LED Accent Lights
  • LED Headlights
  • Lower Doors
  • Aluminum Roof
